THIS IS ME

 

The Challenge

This Is Me campaigns for transgender and non-binary healthcare reform in Ireland.

The organisation is leading the change to the Irish landscape from one of denial and ignorance to the supportive, informed, inspiring system the people of Ireland deserve.

I was asked to consider two things: firstly, that the organisation needs to be politically friendly - professional, official, mainstream rather than radical, and so on - and secondly, that the pastel colours of the transgender flag be used. The flag is a powerful convention that anyone involved in the community is familiar with.

 

 

The Response

I created this simple, bold logo mark that hopefully strikes just the right balance between impact and subtlety, between protest and professionalism.

The core ingredients include the heritage of the transgender rights movement, a visual nod to the transgender flag, a minimalist stamp-like quality and an abstract quality that will allow for diversity of need and nuance.

I added purple and yellow to the brand colour scheme, to acknowledge the existing flag for non-binary representation, and it is vitally important to be inclusive (and it’s aesthetically beneficial too). I created this simple message to show what the organisation is all about, in a clear, concise and hopefully shareable way.
