INSTITUTE OF DESIGNERS IN IRELAND
The IDI aims to communicate the value and impact of design to the wider public, and to offer training, events and community to the makers and shakers of Ireland. That’s how I put it anyway!
I was asked to help with IDI comms in 2018. I tried to evolve the visual identity with a distinct standard, using existing brand elements as a directional source. Bright, basic colours bring pop and energy to the messaging. Classic design structure from early modernist movements like the Swiss International style helps to communicate design credibility, quality and familiarity.
The brand voice is of course integral too: I write (and design) the monthly newsletter along with other content, attempting to inject all communications with personality, humour and inclusivity.
